Cool customer for Nexus
Finding a replacement vehicle for a Kettering-based ice cream man may have been a tall order but Nexus Rental proved itself more than up to the task recently. The original vehicle had been involved in an accident and the owner's insurance policy promised a replacement.
Vehicle rental broker and rental systems provider Nexus was able to source a new van, fully kitted out ready to sell ice creams and lollies, within a mere 40 minutes of the request being received.
'Whilst sourcing ice cream vans is not a core part of our business, being able to find a replacement vehicle in just 40 minutes certainly demonstrates the strength of our supply chain and the capabilities of the IRIS application which was able to source this unusual requirement without human intervention,' confirmed Neil McCrossan, chief executive, Nexus Rental. 'As the temperatures rise, no good ice cream vendor would want to miss out on sales so it was vital to get a replacement vehicle to the customer as quickly as possible.
'The ice cream van was fully powered to sell ice creams and other cold goods and even had a full range of tunes to play!'
