Tips on reducing yet more carbon
It is reported that on average 37% of meetings held by employees up and down the country are completely unnecessary. The report by WebEx highlights the inefficiency and cost in money and time let alone the environmental damage this adds.
Vice President of WebEx, Bert van der Zwan, believes everyone will have to adopt friendlier alternatives to commuting and business travel, especially if the UK is to cut its carbon emissions by up to 32% by 2020 it will require a collective effort.
Many time and cost saving methods can be taken into consideration when commuting for business needs such as using public transport, planning journeys better, using different vehicle choices, however Nexus believes it doesn't just stop there. In an effort to decrease our environmental impact on the environment, we have adopted a marketing strategy and communication plan to ensure communication at all stages with prospective clients is efficient as can be. This includes undertaking thorough, high quality research either through an agency or in-house prior to visiting clients to ensure that meetings are effective both for Nexus and the client. In adopting this marketing strategy Nexus have been successful in securing partnerships with 98% of clients within the first meeting.
In cutting carbon output further, Nexus advise:
Reduction of face to face meetings to necessary ones only
Adopt other technologies for communication such as audio conferences, web cams
Should some journeys still have to be made by car, train or plane, these can be offset or neutralised by investing in one of The Carbon Neutral climate change projects. Carbon Neutral
